Happy Mid-September

Hello!

We're starting to get into a regular routine now that we're three weeks into school, which is really great! We started home reading this week and next week we'll begin our spelling/vocabulary program.

Each day when the the students arrive, they get a chance to solve a math problem of the day, repair a sentence of the day, and to write in their journals. Daily writing practice helps to become more comfortable with writing, while fixing a sentence improves grammar skills, and math word problems help us improve our problem-solving skills.

The kids are very engaged with our Class Doo points system! Right now they are earning their way to a movie party and after we reach that goal, we're going to strive to get fish as a class pet (which will, of course, be very exciting).

Our class is going to be working with Mr. Tran's grade eight class in October for our Thanksgiving Liturgy, which is going to be a lot of work but also a lot of fun!

Have a great rest of September and remember to enjoy the good weather while it lasts!
